Long before David Mead became well known as the writer of best selling guitar titles like ‘Ten Minute Guitar Workout’ and ‘100 Tips For Guitar’, he had a busy career as a guitarist, playing with sax legends Peter King, Dick Heckstall-Smith and Lol Coxhill.
After immersing himself in writing and journalism, which saw him go on to edit two of the biggest guitar magazines in Europe along the way, he recently returned to the concert stage with a new CD produced by jazz virtuoso Martin Taylor. Entitled ‘Nocturnal’ the album features David playing acoustic and nylon string guitars throughout, crossing stylistic boundaries from 1920s jazz through to his own impressionistic and enchanting compositions…
‘A great talent as a guitarist and composer…’ Martin Taylor MBE
